Custom emoji must remain understandable in a much smaller visual space than a large sticker. Start with a compact symbol, shorten any lettering and use motion that preserves its meaning. Give the emoji one clear job
Choose a single concept such as approval, waiting, celebration or a recognizable brand symbol. An emoji used inline with text has little room to explain a detailed scene. Remove background decorations that compete with the central idea.
For a “completed” state, a clear checkmark may communicate more effectively than a character beside a checklist and a written caption. Keep a larger scene for a sticker if it needs those details. Designing the two separately gives each enough clarity for the way people will use it.
Check the silhouette and internal spaces
View the artwork at a small scale early in the process. Inspect narrow gaps, tiny holes and thin strokes. A feature that looks elegant at high zoom can disappear or merge with another shape when rendered in a message.
Use a ring or letter-based mark as a practical check. If the center hole closes visually, enlarge the gap or simplify the symbol. Do not rely on animation to reveal a detail that is unclear in the resting pose. The basic shape should communicate the intended meaning before it moves.

Use the requirements for the chosen emoji format
Telegram supports custom emoji using sticker-related technologies, but static images, video and TGS do not all share the same preparation rules. The official documentation distinguishes image and video emoji dimensions from vector-animation requirements. Review the relevant section when changing your chosen format.
For this converter, prepare vector SVG artwork and export TGS. Do not rasterize a detailed image merely because you have seen a dimension requirement for static emoji. That would create a different type of source, and this converter does not import PNG or video files.
Keep the essential shape visible during motion
Choose a restrained pulse, brief emphasis or small repeating movement. Large rotations or extreme scale changes can turn a useful symbol into a blur. Compare the most distorted pose with the resting pose and ask whether it still reads as the same icon.
For a branded letter, protect its orientation and counters. For a status dot, a subtle pulse may be enough. Some advanced controls require Pro, but complexity is not a requirement for a readable emoji. A still composition can be the better design when the symbol already communicates clearly.
Review in the actual message context
